DIGCOMP 2.2
What it is about
Digcomp 2.2 is an update of DIGCOMP 2.1 and represents a common European reference framework for digital competences. Being a European public document and identifying and describing digital competences in terms of knowledge, skills and attitudes, it was used by Intertek to define a certification scheme for citizens' digital competences.
The examination is based on incrementally difficult questions that return a certificate, under Accredia accreditation (Accreditation Body Regulation (EC) No. 765/2008), which defines mastery levels for the competence areas defined by DIGCOMP. In addition to being issued in PDF format, the certificate is also issued with an OpenBadge ("digital badges" containing metadata with information about the certificate and digitally recognised internationally).
The OpenBadge is issued to everyone reporting the level of mastery, as determined by the examination, from Basic 1 to highly specialised 8 for each area of competence. The badge is valid for 2 years. There is no maintenance. Certification as an EDSC DIGCOMP USER is not a professional certification within the meaning of Law 4:2013 but falls under the certification of persons according to the accreditation standard ISO 17024.I
Pre-requisites
Since this is a USER certification there are no pre-requisites for access to the examination, anyone can take the certification exam.
