What it is about

The Proctor (ISO 29992 definition) or Invigilator (ISO 17024 definition) is the figure responsible for conducting the examination in every aspect. It is his or her task to ensure that the examination room, including the virtual one, is fully operational from a logistical (accessibility, suitability of the test environment) and technological (hardware, software, network) point of view, whether the examinations are in person or online.

The term 'proctor' refers to a supervisory, control or monitoring figure involved in the administration of examinations or the management of situations where guidance or control is required. A proctor may be a person responsible for supervising students during an examination to ensure compliance with the rules, prevent plagiarism and ensure that the process is conducted correctly and fairly. The proctor's role is to maintain the integrity of the examination, answer questions regarding instructions and handle any emergency situations or problems that may occur during the examination. The proctor's supervision helps to ensure the reliability and fairness of the assessment process and ensures that examinations are conducted in a fair and impartial manner.

In order to obtain certification, there is a written examination to assess knowledge. Exam consisting of 30 closed questions (4 answers of which only 1 is true) lasting 30 minutes (online) with a pass mark of 70% (correct answers).

There is no oral test being a practitioner/user profile.

The OpenBadge is issued to all certified persons. The badge is valid for 5 years. There is no maintenance. Certification as a PROCTOR/INVIGILATOR is not a professional certification within the meaning of Law 4:2013 but falls under the certification of persons according to the accreditation standard ISO 17024.
